Dinner at Waterfront Park

After our first bike ride last Sunday, Will took a nap and then we packed up and headed south to Waterfront Park in Burlington for a picnic dinner. It was gorgeous! We had a soft serve cone after dinner (what the real Vermonters call a Creemee...I just can't bring myself to say it) and there were so many people in line it felt like a busy summer night! I love our warm May weather this year!

After dinner, Daddy and Will horsed around a bit! :-)

Biking last weekend

I got a bike for my birthday/Mother's Day! I love it and we took advantage of perfect weather last weekend to get out for a family bike ride. We are both pulling bike trailers now...makes for an excellent workout! Patrick rides in the trailer in his car seat to make it safe.

We biked to Airport Park in Colchester. The middle swing was mine. ;-)

Patrick and Will...

I love comparing pictures of Will and Patrick at the same ages. I've decided that Patrick is my "banana baby"--long and lean-- and Will is my "apple baby"--short and round. :-) I got these terms from some baby website, and they made me smile. As different as they are in looks, it is clear that they are brothers. Patrick's eyes are still a dark blue, and Will's have always been very dark brown. But there's just something similar about them. Go figure! ;-) (But Will definitely had the better complexion at this age--Patrick just can't seem to get rid of the baby acne...poor guy!)

I was snapping a lot of photos this afternoon. I think Will got into it after a while and was rockin' some poses. :-) Then he decided he needed to cool off with the hose in the yard.

Fixing the bike...

Justin brought his bike up to the deck to make fixing it a family affair. It was great--I sat in the sun and Will snacked and watched and "helped" Daddy. Will is absolutely intrigued by anything mechanical. He seems to want to figure out how everything works and will study things for long periods of time. It's neat to watch his interests develop!

Is it just me or does Justin look like an amputee here? I love this photo but that's what I keep seeing!

Working mom of two survives first week! (and Patrick's 2-month stats)

I don't have much energy left, but I made it through my first week back at school as a mother of two children under the age of two. Go, me! I have to say, the days did go by quickly, but I was one tired momma every evening. And I was pretty much a waste of space today. :-( Doesn't take long to catch a cold in that germ factory! But, my spirits are high. I CAN do this working mom thing, even with two kids! It helps that summer is on the horizon...

Patrick went to the doc yesterday for his two-month check up. He's healthy! He is a long guy at 23.75 inches (80th percentile) and a skinny guy at 11 lbs, 1 oz. (35th percentile). Unlike his big brother whose head is nearly off the charts, Patrick's head is solidly in the 50th percentile. So it seems as if we have a short, stocky fellow in Will and a tall, skinny guy in Patrick. But who knows-- I was a chunky baby and look at me now. HUGE! ;-) I had Justin report my milk output to the doc (fun job for a dad, eh? But I couldn't be there, so that's life). The doc says that Patrick is a lucky baby and I'm providing more than enough. Hey, when I'm the sole provider of nutrition for this little guy, I need to know that I'm doing my job!

I've been taking the camera to school (oops!) so no new pictures from the week. We will remedy that situation tomorrow, which is supposed to be a gorgeous day. Time to go out and about!

Ann and Helen visit!

I was so happy to host Ann and Helen for a brief, but wonderful visit last week! They just left today and it made me quite sad to see them go. Will was a bit off after their departure too, since he was sleeping when they had to leave. :-( Thanks for making the trip, Ann!

We took a road trip and went down to Ben and Jerry's in Waterbury for the factory tour. No flash photography was allowed until we got to the tasting room. The sample was delicious...just ask Helen and Will!
