Sick :-(

Will was sick for the first time this weekend. He had been under the weather before (after having shots), but this time it was for real!  He seems a lot better now, but he had a high fever both Saturday and Sunday nights with a horrible-sounding cough. He may go into the doctor today, but I don't think it'll be necessary. He just needs a lot of love, fluids, healthy foods, and cuddling!
When Will's fever was high, he was happiest in just his diaper. Here are "my boys" on the floor together. Peso seemed to sense that Will wasn't feeling well and got closer than usual. Very sweet.

So handsome

It's a gorgeous, sunny day here in Vermont, so Will and I went out and about today. He was in such a great mood! He was sound asleep when we got back, but he started to cry when I set his car seat down in the living room. So I made silly noises, and he was suddenly full of smiles. I captured many of them! Here are a few...

Shopping!

Will was a good sport about going shopping with me today. He lasted nearly an hour at the Carter's outlet. I got some great buys! He's surrounded by his new duds in these photos! It's been a while since I bought him a bunch of clothes...and I got all these for less than $50! And I HAD to get him a shirt for St. Patrick's Day! He does have some Irish blood, after all!

A few more...

Will was quite photogenic today, so here are a few more photos for your viewing pleasure. :-)
Check out that belly!

This is how he sits when there's no pillow helping him!

After a diaper change...he still loves those toes!

Fun with Valentines!

Even though it's not quite Valentine's Day, Will's week was full of heart-y good times! OK, bad play on words. Anyway, I set him down with his V-tines this afternoon, and he had a lot of fun grabbing them...and then promptly putting them in his mouth, of course! He especially loves his big card from Mary and Poppi. He was intent on trying to chew that one, but I took it away before he could get a papercut on his lip!
I remember when our friend Christine gave us these overalls for Will at the hospital after he was born. They looked SO HUGE! It makes me pause and think how quickly time is passing. He's wearing his "big boy" clothes. Or at least they looked big way back then.  He's growing up! Come visit--fast--before he isn't a baby anymore! :-(  To our far away friends and family--we really miss you!

Random pics

Just some recent pics...a bit random!
In his car seat after a night of socializing at the Marshall's house! :-)

Will can now sit up on his own!!!!
Will's Valentine's booty from daycare. He is tentatively reaching for the fuchsia heart Valentine.

He successfully reached the fuchsia heart. And this is what happens to everything he reaches--except not always with the crazy looking expression! ;-)

At the pet store...

Will went on a field trip to the pet store with the kids from his daycare. Laura (our wonderful daycare provider), carried Will in the Baby Bjorn. He seemed quite content, or so it appears! We couldn't go, but our friend Matt took some cute pics. It seems Will noticed the animals, at least a little bit. But when he got hungry, I think the bottle took center stage.
I will be updating the blog more as the weekend goes on... so stay tuned! Sorry it's been so long--work has been BUSY and I feel like I haven't had much time lately.

Wah-wah-tastic

Will enjoyed his latest new food...pears. He's eating a few things at the same time and always asking for more. No English yet...just lots of babble and "wah wahs," as you'll see in this video. :-)

Will is officially 6-months old!

I forgot to mention that Will hit the half-year mark this past Wednesday. We had a big snowstorm that day, but no snow day at school. I got a call that morning that Will was crying inconsolably at daycare and seemed under the weather, so I left work early and brought Will home. We both were fighting a nasty cold, so we cozied up on the couch and snuggled and watched the snow fall. I think he just wanted to celebrate his 6-month birthday with his momma! Anyway, it turned out to be a lovely afternoon and evening...but I am still in shock with how quickly time passes! Yikes!

Will's epicurean adventures...

Will continues the adventure of solid food. He now has had avocados, sweet potatoes, winter squash, and rice cereal. He loves them all, especially the sweet potatoes. Unfortunately the camera's battery died when he was eating those. It was messy and fun! This morning I was eating some delicious oatmeal, and Will looked a little jealous. So I mixed up some rice cereal for him to try. Pretty bland, but I think he liked the texture!
I know I've said this before, but if his eyes look funky in any photos, it's due to the red-eye correction feature on Picasa. He ALWAYS has red-eye in photos. Oh well.
Will is an eager participant in this eating thing... :-)

He locks his mouth tightly around the spoon and chews. It's pretty funny. I think he likes the rubbery texture of the spoon!

Yum! It looks like he's foaming at the mouth, but don't worry--that's rice cereal (whole grain, of course!)

Will loves his infant seat...it attaches to our counter-height barstools perfectly and works like a high chair, without adding an extra piece of furniture to our kitchen. OK, I guess I love it as much as Will. It gets him in on the action at our "bar". He loves banging these links around. Cause and effect--he lifts them up, and bangs them down and winces when he hears the loud noise! Then he does it all over again.
