Belly laughs

Loyal followers of the blog know about Will and the humor study. So it won't surprise you to know that I've been a bit worried that Will doesn't laugh very much. Go figure. He smiles, shouts with glee, and generally makes lots of happy noises. But the belly laughs...well, not so much.

Today, Will's a mucousy, gooey mess (which is why he's wearing a bib in this video). I'm taking him to the pediatrician in an hour (per their recommendation), since he's sneezing every few minutes, has massive amounts of boogers dripping down his face, and has a barking sound behind his cough. But hey, being sick won't get him down, as you will see here...THE LAUGHS FINALLY CAME! Interesting timing, buddy! (Oh--and this is only a 1-1/2 minute clip of 3 minutes of laughing before he fell backwards and started to cry!)

Relaxing!

Yesterday marked 8 months of life with Will! I can't imagine life any other way, but I'll spare you my sappy musings.  We celebrated with a run! It was a gorgeous day--65 degrees and sunny. Will is so content in the jogger on our long runs. I think he likes seeing the sights and sounds and all the adoring looks he gets!
With last week being parent-teacher conference week, I didn't take any photos. So I snapped a few today to make sure the 8-month mark was recorded for posterity!
Will and Justin had some quality cuddling time on the couch this morning. Justin was recovering from his long run! Will puts EVERYTHING in his mouth these days. This is quite a common look for him, in the middle of chomping on whatever object is nearest to him!

Fun with daddy!

Will is bouncing like crazy in this thing these days. I'll have to get a video of it soon. It's quite hilarious! And can you believe how light his hair is getting (and it's WET here after a bath)!

Again, the boy likes to chew. He has two teeth poking through on the bottom. They are taking FOREVER to come up! Poor thing.

Erin Go Bragh

I, of course, wore green for St. Patty's Day too, so I had to get in on these pictures. I had strep throat, but hey, that didn't stop me from smiling for the camera with my little leprechaun! His smile in the photo on the bottom right captures the essence of Will right now. So sweet and happy!

Our wee Irish lad!

Will has a St. Patrick's Day onesie and sleeper, which were quite cute on him! He looks like quite the Irish lad, doesn't he!? After all, he IS William Thomas MALONEY Sorenson! :-) Oh, and if you are wondering why Will's nose looks orange, I think it's due to the large quantity of sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots he eats. Oops. Time to integrate more colors into his diet!

A little messy after a big day at the Maloney-Sorenson pub (he had a "pint" of sweet potato puree!)
Fresh from the bathtub...check me out in my new PJs! Look how straight I keep my back when I sit!
An artsy angle. :-)
Whenever he sits up he gets this goofy little grin on his face...he's just so happy to have a new view of things, I think!

A day at the beach...

These pictures were taken about 3 weeks ago, when there was still a lot of ice on Lake Champlain. Thank goodness it doesn't look quite as wintery out there anymore! Will was overheating in his stroller, so we took him out and let him feel the cool breeze for a while!

Slight delay

Hello, loyal fans! Well, strep throat is out of this house (I hope) and we're all doing fine. But, you'll have to be patient for the latest photos. Technical difficulties. OK, we're really just trying to tempt you to come out and see the ultra-sweet and cute Will IN THE FLESH! No photo fix on the blog=family/friend booking flights to Vermont. Just joking...stay tuned. We miss you! XOXOXO

Ch-ch-ch- CHANGES!

I'm home sick today, and the house is so quiet it's almost creepy! I just realized that I haven't had a sick day since Will was born. I've been under-the-weather, but not sick enough to stay home. Will is at daycare, so I have time to heal.
Will recently went through some major changes! He sits up now without any help at all, and he doesn't topple over very much! He is just so darn proud of himself...it's so cute. He holds himself up very straight and looks all around--enjoying his new view. He's been sitting with some support for a long time, but just in the last week or two he's gained so much more strength.
Will is a VERY happy baby lately too. I think he's always been good-natured, but his mood lately takes it to a whole new level. He wakes up smiling, and he goes to sleep smiling too. It's so wonderful to put him down in his crib, sleepy but not asleep, and hear him "talk" himself to sleep with his cooing noises. He is the kind of baby that makes me rethink the plan to have two children...maybe more?
That being said, I think Will has two teeth about to break through...so cranky days may be just around the corner! For now, we'll just enjoy the smiles that light up his whole face anytime one of us walks in the room. Sometimes I'll feel that someone is looking at me, turn around, and there's Will in his Exersaucer, HUGE smile on his face.
Finally, Will LOVES food. Everything we give him, he chows it down with a vengeance! I hope, hope, HOPE he continues to be an adventurous eater. I have no patience for picky eaters. (A characteristic I'll have to change if he does turn out to be picky...). We just love such a variety of food around here!
OK, time to sleep. Here are some pictures from a week or so ago. I will take more in the next few days. He has honestly changed since these pictures were taken, believe it or not!
Much love. XOXO
Will's the master of the Exersaucer now, and he KNOWS it!

So what IS that thing you point at me all the time, Mom? And notice how well I sit up! (The pillow behind him is just in case!)

I LOVE my blankets...especially knitted blankies, so I can weave my fingers through the weave!)

Justin gave Will a "Faux hawk" after his bath recently. Too funny. His hair looked crazy the next day after sleeping on it like this!

More of the same, but in black and white...

Will's "official" 7-month pics

I think he already realizes he's cute. Maybe it's because I tell him this so often!

7-months old!

Will reached the 7 month mark yesterday! His latest interests: eating Cheerios without assistance, throwing things on the floor (repeatedly), and trying to get people's attention by shrieking. It's all quite fun!
Notice the Cheerios all over his sleeper!:-)

He is screaming in this picture...I think trying to wake Justin.

He's interested in looking at the camera now...but it's too darn slow to catch his smiles!
