A Halloween Sneak Peek!

It was the annual Halloween party at daycare--what fun! I took a lot of pictures but not many turned out very well. :-( I did get a couple of keepers, though, and there are MANY more photo opportunities to come this weekend...

Anna and Patrick...just two days apart in age! Patrick is a dragon, but he didn't love having the hood pulled down too far!
Justin and I dressed up as teachers--ha ha! :-) Will was a monkey last year, in case you remember. Yes, it's the same costume. I'm sorry, but until he "gets it," were reusing as much as possible! :-)

Silly boy!

Will wanted to rediscover the Exersaucer last weekend. He has been intrigued with it ever since we brought it back out for Patrick. He managed to get inside to check it out! It was funny to see, but I don't think he liked it too much. He didn't stay long. :-)

A fall walk...

We took a short walk, which was supposed to be a long walk, last week. The double BOB blew a tire! That was a first. No biggie. It was so beautiful and colorful! The boys were VERY tired and just took it all in.

Time Out?!

Will has definitely been testing limits lately, and he's had to go to "time out" pretty regularly-at least once per day. He takes his two-minutes of time out pretty seriously...usually. I took pictures of our latest time out. You'll see why. :-)

Not looking too remorseful after hitting his baby brother, is he?
Hmm...still not showing much concern about being in time out...
Ah. This is more like it. It seemed mean to take a picture, but the progression of emotions was just too much. I had to capture it. He calmed down and gave Patrick and kiss and said he was sorry. :-)

Patrick and Peso

Patrick loves Peso. Peso loves Patrick. It's pretty sweet. I can't believe how patient Peso is with Patrick. He's not exactly gentle with him! :-)

This one is just Patrick...
Then, there's the two pals...hanging out together (a frequent sight!)

Patrick is hanging out in his game day sweat pants and sweat shirt. Too funny! He SWIMS in this, but he looked comfy!

Little stinker!

I can't leave Will unattended for too long these days. He's getting into trouble! Last week while I looked away for a few minutes to check email, Will got into the laundry basket (full of FOLDED laundry) and ran with it and "decorated the living room. He was laughing the whole time. It's hard to get too mad when he's just being silly. I'll know to bring the basket OUT of the living room next time...or just wait to check email.:-)
The Laundry Bandit!
The aftermath!
Laura made dinner for Will to bring home with him. He loves her meals--nicely cut up food that I don't always have the patience to do!
Can you see me, Mama?

The ABCs over and over again...

Will has been very interested in the alphabet lately. He keeps pointing to letters and saying, "What's this one?" I'm happy, because I want him to know his letters/sounds but don't want to shove it down his throat. I was waiting for the interest to be there. And he's only two, after all! :-) He loves the Leap Frog fridge phonics toy. He uses it like a radio and carries it all around, as you will see in these two (kinda long) videos.

I'm gonna getcha!!!!

Patrick loves being tickled and any games with silly voices and smiles. He is SO easy to amuse!

Just silly

We had fun making noises together. The film in this one is a bit bumpy. Don't get too dizzy!!!

A conversation with Will

It was so nice to have time to relax with our babies this week! We had Thursday and Friday off. So wonderful! I took lots of video. Here's a moment on the kitchen floor with Will. :-)

A baby chase!

Patrick loves to laugh, and he laugh easily. He thought it was so much fun chasing Will. Will didn't enjoy it QUITE as much.

Patrick's 7-month stats

I have to say, just writing the title of this post makes me take pause...seven months have gone by ALREADY!? It's hard to imagine life before Patrick, but it's also hard to believe that we've been a two-child family for seven months already. I ran into a parent of a former student while shopping this weekend. I had Patrick with me (Justin and Will were in a different part of the store). She said, "Oh, wow! You have a baby now!" I of course told her that I have TWO children, and then gave their names and ages. It got me thinking...it didn't seem like THAT long ago since I had her daughter as a student (five years, maybe?), and look how much has changed! So much has changed even in just the past 26 months. Anyway, I digress...here are Patrick's latest stats from his appointment last Tuesday:

15 lbs, 6 oz. (he gained more than a pound in a month, which is good)
27.5 inches long--he grew an inch in a month! Whoa!

He is in the 1% for weight and is in the 50% for height. Still a skinny boy, but he does LOVE to eat!

Brothers

It is sweet to see Will taking more of an interest in Patrick lately. Patrick's always been fascinated with Will, but it hasn't been a mutual feeling until recently. I caught a few recent moments...

I love this, because it's usually Will with his hands all over Patrick. Patrick has the upper hand here!
The view from above the floor gym, which Will dragged out for them . His hand is on the right...he wanted to be close to Patrick. So cute...
I loved this quiet moment.
When left to his own devices, this is what we'll find. Good thing our outlets are all child protected!

A few more cute pics of the boys, taken last week. :-)

Freshly bathed, Will's ready for dinner! Sometimes we do the bedtime routine in reverse...when dinner isn't quite ready but bedtime is coming soon! Will LOVES turkey meatloaf!
Patrick finds Will VERY amusing!
Smiles all around, but not always for the camera!
Oh my gosh!!!! BOTH boys smiling--at the camera. Woo hoo!

Our little musician...

Earlier this week, Will dragged this toy out of storage in his bedroom. He dragged it down the hall and into the living room. The next thing we heard was a loud noise from Will's room and a little voice saying, "HELP!" He wanted his little bench in the living room too, but it was a little too heavy to handle on his own. This hand-me-down toy from Jack and Ella has had a lot of use! :-)

Sunny Sunday!

I absolutely love chilly fall days. Today we headed down to Waterfront Park to watch the Great Pumpkin Regatta. I have to admit it wasn't the most exciting race I've ever seen, but it was pretty funny. Basically, people carve out HUGE pumpkins and use them as boats and race them. Crazy. It doesn't look easy, I'll tell you that! After watching a bit of the races and eating a concession-stand lunch (gyros and fries), we walked up to Church Street and all around Burlington, just to be outside!
I never tire of this view. Dad and baby included. :-)
Yes, those are giant pumpkin boats.
Will was not happy to pose for this shot--so sunny and bright! Patrick just slept right through it...
I really didn't dress to coordinate with the strollers...
Our last stop was the library. Will absolutely loved the children's section and we got lots of books for him. He had Patrick laughing like crazy. I love how happy Justin and Patrick look here. I couldn't get a good one of Will being silly...

Go Blue!?

So, after our sunny Saturday adventures in Shelburne, we all settled in to watch the game. When I walked into the living room, this is what I saw....
Daddy!
Peek-a-BLUE!
Yeah, this game isn't going so well. I can't even LOOK!
OK, can't be a fair-weather fan...

Getting along, bumps on the head, and a sunny Saturday...

I have some pretty random photos on my camera this time around...

This peace didn't last long. Will has become VERY possessive of "his' toys; that is, toys that used to be his and he has not played with in almost two years. Sibling rivalry (one sided), I guess.
Will fell on the sidewalk outside our house and did not catch himself with his hands. His forehead took the brunt of it. Yikes! He is OK, but he does have an impressive goose egg and some scrapes. Poor guy!
We wound up at the Shelburne Farmers Market yesterday after deciding that our timing was off for a trip to Shelburne Farms. We'll try that next weekend. Seeing the alpacas at the market was a highlight for Will (and us). Their wool is SOOOOO soft!
Bundled up on a cool fall day!

A close-up of the injury.
It was sunny, so I stopped at TJMaxx to get a cheap-o pair of sunglasses to tide me over until I can find a good pair. I found these Kate Spade specs, and I like them a lot! I had to take a self portrait. Only $30 (usually $150!). I love deals. Is this a weird thing to post on the blog? Probably, but how often do I tell of MY adventures on here?! :-)
