Will was welcomed to this world on Monday, July 28th, 2008. His brother Patrick was born March 11th, 2010! This blog is to help family and friends near and far see our babies grow!

Touch a Truck! A boy's dreamland...
So, I'm not that into trucks. Gotta be honest here. I appreciate that they do important jobs and serve important purposes. No doubt! And they are impressive in their size and amenities. But, I'm happy to know what they're called and leave it at that. Is it because I'm a girl or just because I have different interests? Who knows? One thing I can say for sure--both, OK, ALL my boys LOVE trucks! They were happy as can be during the Colchester Touch a Truck morning. And I love watching them and being a part of it. Here's a glimpse into our morning...(note: it was COLD and windy but got much nicer later...that made going inside the trucks especially inviting!).
Having more lakeshore than any other town in the state, Colcheter has some cool technical rescue vehicles--including boats!
Driving a brand new semi truck. Yeah, baby!
Kid management. :-)
I have to say--I see fire trucks every year with 1st graders, but it was even more exciting to see them with my own boys. They were SOOOOO excited to go inside!
Plenty of room for everyone!
Fireman Will!
He was (of COURSE!) interested in the special equipment stored outside the truck and had many questions about it!
OK, Daddy had lots of questions, too!
It was quiet time when we arrived, but horn "conking" (as Will would say) was fine by the time we left. :-)
"Can we get a truck we can sleep, in Daddy?" :-)
Serious tractor power.
Sitting on a school bus was seriously exciting to Will. Not so much for me--occupational hazard.
He "conked" the bus horn a few dozen times!
The street sweeper! Cool (and no line to sit inside!)
Getting comfy checking out all the controls...
A super small helicopter. Will would not leave until he saw this thing leave the ground.

Fancy feet!
Tooth love
I have been encouraging Will to teach Patrick how to do things lately, trying to develop his nurturing side. (And it's nice to have a helper in the house!) Will has somewhat reluctantly starting to teach Patrick how to get dressed each morning. It's a start! Last night, I asked Will to help Patrick brush his teeth after Will announced he would "go get the toothbrushes ready." The next thing I know, Will's in the kitchen, with Patrick's toothbrush in hand. It was the sweetest thing to watch. I took a bunch of photos--thank goodness my phone was sitting right there on the counter. Moving away to find the camera would have ruined the moment, broken the spell. It got pretty silly at the end, but Patrick had the cleanest teeth in the house!
