Mommy and Daddy Time

Justin and I splurged for the week after school got out and paid for daycare. The goal was to catch up on things around the house--Justin wanted to work on our bathroom renovation and I wanted to tackle the never-ending laundry pile, among MANY other things. We did get lots done, but we also took a few hours here and there to just relax and be together. It's not often just the two of us anymore. It was quite refreshing...

We took the boat out from Burlington Harbor to Juniper Island--a small island in Lake Champlain. We did not go on the island, we just anchored near it and floated. This is when we first left the boat launch.
Looking back at part of Burlington Harbor.
The breakwater (where the lighthouse is) is usually about 3 feet above the water.  Although the lake level has gone down, it is still high--only about a foot of the breakwater was visible last Monday.
It's a modest boat, but it's our yacht! I love getting out on the water without  having to exert TOO much energy. Kayaking is great, but this is a whole different experience!
So serious. I drove the boat for the first time that day. It was fun! I don't know why I'm frowning!
We had iced coffee and reading time during one of our "kid breaks." :-)
Just chillin'.
