A regular Betty Crocker...

Ha ha ha! I hope that title enticed you, because "a regular Betty Crocker" I AM CERTAINLY NOT! But, we've been doing some very easy baking/cooking together recently, and Will/Patrick absolutely love anything that involves having a treat at the end. So making muffins and cookies fit that criteria. The muffins were from a mix and the cookies only required that we spread them out on a tray and put them in the oven! Perfect! I do think we will actually do some "real" baking in the coming weeks. Will loves the idea of making and decorating cookies. I can handle that. They also regularly "help" me in the kitchen when I cook, because COOKING I can do...just not BAKING. :-) Here are a few photos of my culinary cuties.

Mix, mix, pass the spoon! Blueberry muffins ala Pillsbury!
Patrick SOMETIMES will smile on command! :-)
I came home to little Paddy here working in the yard with Da. Seriously--doesn't he look like a little Irish lad!?
Get out. Even with mud on his cheek, this dude is HANDSOME! His deadpan/model look cracks me up!
We arranged those cookies beautifully for even baking! This was just the beginning. ;-)
Yum!

Dear Boys.......
Baking and cooking already!!!! The two of you make it look sooo easy! Of course, you're in good hands because both your momma and grandma Chris are amazing and talented cooks themselves, so they're sure to share their kitchen secrets with you as you grow. Pssssst, maybe you can share their secrets with me cuz, well, I'm not as talented in the kitchen.....but if you want to learn how to swim, shoot basketballs, or learn the lyrics to some fabulous Motown tunes well,I'm your girl :)
Poppi and I just spent our 1st Thanksgiving in Nashville with your cousin Elliott, Uncle Hayden, and Aunts Kim & Sarah. While you played in the snow with Da, we were greeted with warm weather, and lots of sun. We even decorated the Christmas tree!! When Elliott and I scrambled eggs for breakfast, she said, "Mareeeee,do you remember when Will and I made eggs at the cottage? We made good eggs!" "Yes you did!" I replied.
When we see you at Christmas, I'll have plenty of eggs for you to scramble, and Pillsbury cinnamon rolls for you to bake. Maybe you'll be the ones to see that they get pulled from the oven before....they burn! That's my speciality...:)
I love you both, and am eagerly awaiting your arrival........will you be traveling by sleigh????
Much love to my beautiful boys.

Patty my boy! What a cute Irish lad you are! Do I detect a hint of mischief in those baby blues?
