Patrick had the pleasure of enjoying his first bites of "real" food while we were in Michigan (August 9, 2010...just about 5 months old...just to record this for posterity!). Grammy Mary was the lucky lady to feed him his first rice cereal. He seemed to like it--he had been watching our spoons and forks while we eat for several weeks. So, I think he was ready. More importantly, I was (and still am) freaking out about his small size so decided to start supplementing my nursing with cereal and formula. I was a breastfeeding purist with Will, but that was easy since he THRIVED. Patrick does seem more content now that he has the cereal and formula in addition to breast milk. And he's getting better at getting more of the cereal in his mouth! Next on the agenda...either sweet potatoes or avocado--Will's early favorites!
