It was a lovely, summer-like day here today...so after apple picking, we seized the day and went out on the boat. Will donned his favorite mud boots for the occasion, and "cleaned" the driveway while Justin hooked up the boat. I tried to get Patrick and Will to smile at me for pictures on the boat. I told them to say "Fish!" Ha! That word does not lend itself to a smiling face! It was a gorgeous late afternoon boat ride. The boys love the boat--it has a calming effect on all of us. And that's a good thing on a Sunday afternoon. We wrapped up our day with roasted chicken and apple crisp. Happy Fall (but summer weather, STAY with us, please)!! P.S. Will does have a life jacket...he took it off for about 5 minutes, and only when standing RIGHT next to Justin. He needs a new one that fits more comfortably.

Three men and A Boat!!!!!!! I love these photos......what a wonderful way to celebrate the waning days of summer.
I took a moment and scoured through all our "summer on the boat" photos, and couldn't find a one that didn't capture pure joy! "Daddy's Prozac" proved to be the vehicle that put smiles on everyone's faces. My guess is that the boat will get bigger,as the babies grow, but we'll always have the summer that put a new perspective on a "day at the beach" from another view........what a thrill it was to navigate the waters, looking back at the shore, and feeling freedom, as the wind blew our hair, water splashed over the bow, and most importantly, the laughter that escaped the mouths of everyone on board. It was gift, only Jutty could give us! And what a gift it was!
